Yesterday we drove from Helsinki up north to Jakobstad (my old hometown), and beacause it was wind in Storsand we went for a session on the way there, Jonathan and I. The wheather was cold, just 8 degrees celsius, but when there is wind in Storsand Munsala and you are at the spot you simply just have to go.
I would say that Storsand is my homebeach, where I started to kite when I lived in Jakobstad. And what a beach! A big reason why I could move back to Jakobstad is beacause of that awesome beach. Long sandy one with perfect waves with flat between. On north winds this plave is just awesome.
Yesterday the wind picked up strong as we arrived, and at the second beach (better for north-east winds) I got to finally open and try Razor 2013 for the first time. The wind was to strong for my 11, but I did not want to go the long way back to the car for another kite, so I kited in the strong wind and did the best I could. And wow, that kite! Razor 2013 had even more awesome feeling in the air, I think. I got the highest and nicest raleys that I have ever done before. I almost nailed the raley to blinds, but fell mostly due to the gusty and strong winds. I am not so used to my new boards and the boots yet either so I think that is a reason why the blinds feels so difficult now.
Today it’s also wind in Storsand, so now I can’t wait to be done at work so I can go!
