I loved the fact that the first of May was windy. Others were not so happy about the weather, but I took advantage of it instead! Me and Jonathan celebrated the season opening of the summer at the awesome Secret beach in Hangö!
The temperature in the air was 8 degrees celsius when we started, and just 3 degrees when we were ready. In these temperatures it’s really important to wear the right clothes. Everything in neoprene: wetsuit, gloves, shoes and hat. I don’t like the feel of it, but it’s a must in these cold conditions.
And finally it was time to test the brand new Airush Razor! 7 m2 for me and 9 m2 for Jonathan was perfect in the pretty strong wind. Unlike my old kite the Razor has five lines, but there were no problem to attach the lines to the kite.
I noticed the difference as soon as I went out on the water, because I had to work the kite in a different way that I am used to. The biggest different was that this kite was so stabile in the air! I could park it wherever I wanted and it stayed there. The unhooked feel was also really nice with Razor. When I popped for a unhooked raley the lines automatically slacked in a really nice way I was not used to. Wow what a feeling! I think it will be really great for freestyle and especially handlepasses! In my opinion the apperance of the Razor is a little bit boring, and it could be nice with a new design, but that’s the only negative thing with this kite!
These Airush Razor kites are year 2012, and will be swithed to 2013 as soon as the new models arrive. Then I am going to tell more about the Razor – so stay tuned!
Awesome Hangö Secret, my favorite in southern Finland. Even if it was cold today I really enjoyed the riding after a long break. It really got me to think about the nice months in Asia when the sun was reflecting on the water surface – exavtly in the same way as on the other side of the world! Just a little bit colder, so we are happy to have the neoprene! Now I am already waiting for the next session!
