If I have to describe yesterday with one word it would be wow or awesome! Storsand gave us yesterday the best Finnish session so far this year. We arrived to Storsand in the afternoon, and were happy to see that the wind was on! Quick change to wetsuit, pump up the kite, fix the lines and out in the water.
My smallest kite, 5,5 m2, was good in the strong wind. Later I changed back to my 7 as the wind dropped a little bit, and that was just perfect. I love that 7 m2 piece of kite so much! With the new shorter bar the kite was really stable in the air, and finally (after a LOT of crashes) I started to pull off the raley to blinds again! Yeey! Got a few ones really high and nice!
Totally 5 hours on the beach, 4½(!) hours on the water! And my body can feel it today. The arms and my neck are stiff as never before. But I like it, it remebers me of yesterday, which was the most awesome kitesurfing session in Finland this year!
Tomorrow, friday, the Airush Kite Freestyle competition starts in Kalajoki at the X-games. But the forecast promise no wind, unfortunately. But we will go there anyway and watch the snowboarding big air and other cool stuff that is happening. And who knows, maybe the wind picks up?
