The best kitesurf you can get in Finland is probably pretty close to what I had wednesday evening in Storsand. Storsand works on north winds, why the wind usally is really strong there. I like strong winds with loops and waves too, but lightwind wakestyle is my favorite by far. And on wednesday we had just that, light wind all evening. As the wind dropped I changed from 9 m2 to 11 m2, to finish the session with perfect power in my Razor 13 m2 at the same time Jonathan was teaching his little brother how to kite.
I practiced and nailed tricks like s-bend, backroll, raley to blinds, kiteloops, F16. I also did put a lot of tries on the s-bend to blind, but I did not land it – yet. I think s-bend to blind feels way easier than the back to blind, beacause you don’t have to change direction of the spin, but of course I hope to learn them both eventually.
We have had three windy weeks here in Ostrobothnia, and now the forecast promises sunny summerdays and light wind as we are heading back to Helsinki tomorrow. We are moving to Lauttasaari next week so it’s actually just good if there’s no wind for a couple of days, but after that we are living really close to the kitebeach so we are hoping to get a lot of days on the water in August!
And tomorrow I have a really nice surprise for you guys! It has something to do with the Airush Razor – I will show you soon. ;)
